Istanbul as an off-shoot of Hizbullah? Where did you get that? Absolutely false! Hizbullah came into existence in Mauritius in the early 90’s, more than 20 years after the 1968 riots. No evidence about Hizbullah in Mauritius before that. Even the Lebanese Hezbollah didn’t exist in 1968 as it came into the scene in 1983 after Israel’s invasion of Lebanon in 1982.
Hi Salim! As mentioned in the post, all I’ve done is translate sections of Jean-Claude de l’Estrac’s book here. I’ve had to pause research on the riots since the birth of my second child! Really grateful for your insights here and will look into this.
